Makes 48 pieces
Ingredients: 1 package (24.70 oz) “Maadanot” malawah 1 cup (35.27 oz) walnuts, crushed 1 cup sugar 1 egg beaten with a teaspoon of salt confectionary sugar, for sprinkling
Preparation Method: 1. Pre-heat oven to medium temperature (356 F°). Line pan with baking sheet. 2. Mix walnuts and sugar. 3. Divide malawah leaf into 8 triangles, while still slightly frozen (it will defrost as you work), brush with some of the beaten egg. Sprinkle each triangle with the walnut mixture. Roll into a moon shape, and place in pan so that the corner of each triangle should be face down. Prepare all malawah leaves in this way and place in pan with 3 cm of space between them. 4. Bake for approximately 25 minutes, until pastries turn golden. Cool and sprinkle with confectionary sugar.
Store in closed box - room temperature.
