Moon Shaped Pastries Filled with Walnuts

Makes 48 pieces

Ingredients:
1 package (24.70 oz) “Maadanot” malawah
1 cup (35.27 oz) walnuts, crushed
1 cup sugar
1 egg beaten with a teaspoon of salt
confectionary sugar, for sprinkling

Preparation Method:
1. Pre-heat oven to medium temperature (356 F°). Line pan with baking sheet.
2. Mix walnuts and sugar.
3. Divide malawah leaf into 8 triangles, while still slightly frozen (it will defrost as you work), brush with some of the beaten egg. Sprinkle each triangle with the walnut mixture. Roll into a moon shape, and place in pan so that the corner of each triangle should be face down. Prepare all malawah leaves in this way and place in pan with 3 cm of space between them.
4. Bake for approximately 25 minutes, until pastries turn golden. Cool and sprinkle with confectionary sugar.

Store in closed box - room temperature.
